Lvshan Town is located on Hangjiahu plain of the Yangtze River Delta. It lies in the northwest of Zhejiang Province, is 9 km away from Changxing County town and adjoins Huzhou. The whole area of the village is 38.5 km2 with a total population of 23 000. There is 26 373 mu of cultivated land, 6 883 mu of the water land and 4 318 mu of mulberry land. Chang-Hu-Shen (Changxing-Huzhou - Shanghai) waterway runs through the town, 104 state highway, 318 state highway and Xuan-Hang railway run across the boundary. The industrial economy of the whole town includes textiles, building materials, clothes, and cultivates fresh-water fish, silkworm, sheep, lotus root and vegetables. It has been honored as "village of aquatic products", "village of the silkworm and mulberry", "village of building materials" and was twice chosen as the “civilized market town at county level”.
