Zhichen Town is at the converging point of three provinces Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, and is the site of the county committee and county government of Changxing. It has a population of 195 000, covers an area of 197 km2, and has fertile soil, abundant resource and subtropical climate.
104 and 318 national roads meet at the town and Hang-Ning Highway crosses the town. Xin-Chang, Hang-Chang and Hang-Xuan railway join at the town and Chang-Hu-Shen golden channel starts here. Distances to the large and medium cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou are all within 200 km. As a result, the towns position is logistiacally superior.
Zhichen Town, having a history of more than 1700 years, is the hometown of the 1st emperor of the Chen Dynasty, Chen Baxian. Lu Yu, the tea master, finished "The Book of Tea" here. There are scenic spots and historical sites such as the large bell tower and Dacheng Palace of Daxiong Temple, built in the Hongwu years of Ming Dynasty. The museum of Changxing kept many articles of famous persons in Chinese history, including Gui Youguang, a famous scholar in Ming dynasty, Wu Cheng’en, the author of "Journey to the West", and Zhao Mengfu, a famous calligraphist in Yuan Dynasty. There are blue waters and green hills here, and it is a remarkable place producing outstanding people. There are scenic spots, cultural relics and historic sites spread throughout the town. The local trait is simple and honest, the people live and work in peace and contentment.
